Welcome to The Harlem Valley Chamber of Commerce

Welcome to the Harlem Valley in beautiful eastern Dutchess County, and to it’s town’s of Dover Plains, Amenia, Millerton, Millbrook, Pine Plains & Stanfordville. Tucked away at the foothills of the Berkshire and Taconic Mountains, and nestled in between the Taconic State Parkway and the Route 22 corridor, the towns of the Harlem Valley are steeped with tradition, business, grand shopping, delicious dining, fine arts, and much more. An easy commute from New York City by car or train — we invite you to come visit us. We’re sure once you do, you’ll want to come back again and again.

Founded in 2003, as the Amenia Chamber of Commerce the The Harlem Valley Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that seeks to promote and advance the business interests of its members in the area and beyond. Together the towns and the Harlem Valley Chamber of Commerce have nurtured a diversified business community focused on energey, tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, retail and the arts.

Election Results:  Congratulations to Ken Hale who was elected president of the Harlem Valley Chamber of Commerce at the May meeting.  Ken replaces Garret Corocoran who after five years as president has taken a seat on the board of directors, and who will be heading up the chamber's Partnerships/Economic Development committee. Ken is the chief financial officer at Maplebrook School in Amenia, and he's very active in the Amenia Lions Club.  Welcome to Ken!

Other officers elected were Jeanne Rebillard, Dutchess Country Realty as vice president; Dave Miller, Welsh Sanitation as treasurer; and Therese Stanford, Bank of Millbrook as secretary.  Re-elected to the board of directors were Lesley Rohan, Freshtown and Linda Gregory, Jack's Auto Service.  Advisory board members are Sarah O'Connell, Salisbury Bank & Trust Company; Brad Kendall, Dutchess Country Clerk; Gary Murphy, Downey, Haab & Murphy; and Lydia Higginson, Dutchess County Tourrism. 

Harlem Valley Directory

The Harlem Valley Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Taconic Press to produce The Harlem Valley Directory that will be on newsstands throughout Dutchess County on September 4th.  What better way to promote your business this fall and for the holiday season?  All members will be listed for free, and offered a discount for advertising.  The deadline is August 1.  To advertise email Poppy Ganung at Taconic Press or call 845-877-6142.

Harlem Valley Chamber of Commerce Monthly Meeting

Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June, 5:30 pm at Silo Ridge Country Club in Amenia.  We encourage members to attend and to bring guests who are interested in joining the chamber. Next Harlem Valley Marketing Committee Meeting 

Wednesday, June 4, 2008 following the general meeting. We'll discuss next year's Harlem Valley Expo and plan for our fall fundraiser.  All committee members, and anyone interested in joining the committee are asked to attend.

Strawberry Fair

Strawberry Fair vendor space available.  The United Presbyterian Church, located on North Street in Amenia, has set the date for its 36th Annual Strawberry Fair for Saturday, June 14. The event will be held on the church grounds, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you are a vendor and would like to reserve your space at the fair -- call 845-373-9075.
