The Harlem Valley Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit and non-partisan organization that seeks to promote, foster and advance the business interests of its members in the Amenia area and beyond.
Founded in 2003 The Harlem Valley Chamber of Commerce is chartered to:
- Encourage, increase and further the business interests of its members.
- Promote and facilitate networking opportunities for it's members.
- Conduct meetings, discussions and seminars of interest to its members.
- Sponsor a Guest Speaker Program, lectures and social events throughout the year.
- Promote programs designed to improve the economic, intellectual, and social status of its members.

The Membership & Sponsorship Committee
Responsible for database management, voting, community issues, collecting donations & sponsorships and raffle prizes.
Goals & Objectives:
- Meets every month & gives report at monthly Board meeting.
- Maintains accurate database of members.
- Expands membership base throughout town and neighboring areas.
- Distributes Membership Application fliers.
- Promotes benefits of Chamber membership.
- Integrates new members to Chamber.
- Solicits donations and assists with fundraising efforts.
- Solicits sponsorships for annual events.

The Marketing Committee
Produces fliers, eNewsletter, business directory, annual business expo production, media, business community outreach, scheduling of guest speakers for monthly meetings, member to member promotion, publicity and website management
Goals & Objectives:
- Meets every month & gives report at monthly Board meeting.
- Promotes events Chamber is involved with.
- Handles press releases and dealings with media.
- Schedules guest speakers at Public Meetings.
- Produces Chamber fliers, annual business directory.
- Helps promote new members, arranges ribbon cuttings.
- Implements changes to Chamber website, keeps website fresh and interesting, current photo gallery.

The Economic Development Committee
Goals & Objectives:
- Meets every month & gives report at monthly Board meeting.
- Promotes smart business growth based on pre planning and good communication, while at the same time preserving rural qualities.
- Helps formulate Chamber positions on issues of economic development.
- Investigates government grants and programs available to assist chamber and it’s members.
- Assists businesses wishing to relocate to our area. Provide resources to them.
- Promotes Chamber member-to-member business and encourages local shopping.

The Agriculture Committee
Goals & Objectives:
- Meets every month & gives report at monthly Board meeting.
- Works to expand and improve the agriculture economy for Chamber members in that industry.
- Works to improve farm marketing and protecting farming & farmlands.
- Works to assist Chamber members in agriculture industry market their products.
- Keeps Chamber members informed of Government programs in place to assist farmers e.g., grants for farmers to process their own products on-site, thereby increasing profitability.
